# Enterprise context set up in ZSearch

To deliver accurate, relevant, and secure search results, ZSearch must first understand the enterprise context in which it operates. Enterprise context setup defines what knowledge ZSearch can access, how that knowledge is organized, and who is allowed to see it.

In enterprise environments, information is distributed across multiple systems, formats, and access boundaries. Without a well-defined context, search results can become incomplete, outdated, or disconnected from business relevance. Enterprise context setup ensures that ZSearch has a unified, continuously updated view of organizational knowledge while preserving existing security and access controls.

By configuring the enterprise context, organizations enable ZSearch to:

* Connect to approved data sources and repositories
* Build a structured, searchable knowledge base
* Index content accurately and keep it up to date
* Enforce permission-aware access across all search results

This setup forms the foundation for intelligent search, semantic understanding, and collaboration in ZSearch. The following sections guide you through creating and maintaining an enterprise context—covering data source connections, knowledge base creation, indexing behavior, and ongoing synchronization.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.zbrain.ai/zbrain-documentation/zbrain-zsearch/enterprise-context-set-up-in-zsearch.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
